Just as I seek out roads less traveled, I also am constantly on the lookout for things that most people casually pass by (it drives my lovely wife nuts when we are traveling!). I honestly can’t say why the minimalist features of a thing fascinate me, but I’ve always been that way. Many of the subjects I approach this way are anthropogenic in nature, that is, things that man has made, things often ignored and perhaps left behind. Often what makes said subjects interesting is the light, sometimes even a lack of light. In this collection of images you will find many presented in monochrome: I find that color can be a distracting element when trying to convey the essence of a thing.
