I prefer roads less traveled, and spend most of my time exploring BLM and National Forest lands in the Southwest. As a former geologist, rocks figure prominently in my landscapes; as a former pilot, I appreciate both weather and the structural scale of landforms.

I’ve always been drawn to the night, to that time when most humans are asleep, though many animals are awake. In seeking out things that many don’t often see, I gravitate to work during the time when most are not awake, when the world is quiet.

A window into how I see the world, this portfolio naturally illustrates what I find unique in the mundane. Just as I seek out roads less traveled, I also am constantly on the lookout for things that most people casually pass by.

I’ve been a few places around the world, and what I find interesting is that people are generally happy beings, regardless of their circumstance. Much of my photography abroad captures the subtle signs of the human condition upon its environment.
